Mentorship Opportunities for Students

Our mentorship programs provide an opportunity for industry professionals and students to connect. These programs are based on direct requests from employers to have more opportunities to connect with students, from students who want to have a formalized method to meet and learn from people in industry, and from students interested in gaining experience.

Experience Circles

Experience Circles seeks to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application by empowering engineering students to tackle passion projects/research with mentorship support from professionals.

 Info at a glance:

  • Mentors will advise one project containing 1-3 students.
  • Students will receive a $500 project budget and a $350 stipend for their participation
  • Mentor and Student Orientation: Thursday, September 5th at 4:00 p.m. 
  • Project Duration: September – November  
  • Final Deliverables Due: Wednesday, December 4th

International Doctoral Student Mentorship Circles

Mentorship circles aim to support international doctoral students in their transition to industry, particularly addressing challenges related to visas such as OPT, STEM OPT, and H-1B/O-1 sponsorship. 

Info at a glance:

  • Each circle will have 2-3 mentors and 4-6 students.
  • Mentor and Student Orientation: Information coming soon
  • Mentorship Duration: September – mid-November (meet twice per month, for a total of 5 sessions)
