Cybersecurity
Purpose of the Cybersecurity Research Working Group
The purpose of the College of Engineering Working Group on Cybersecurity is to foster a collaborative and innovative environment that advances the understanding, research, and education in the field of cybersecurity within the College of Engineering and the University of Arkansas. This working group seeks to address the growing importance of cybersecurity in our interconnected world and aims to achieve the following key objectives:
Promote Cutting-Edge Research: Facilitate interdisciplinary research initiatives that address pressing cybersecurity
issues, encourage the development of innovative solutions, and promote the dissemination
of knowledge in peer-reviewed publications and conferences.
Collaborate with Industry and Government: Forge partnerships with industry leaders and government agencies to ensure the alignment
of academic research and education with real-world cybersecurity needs, fostering
opportunities for internships, co-op programs, and collaborative projects.
Foster a Community of Expertise: Build a supportive network of cybersecurity experts within the College of Engineering,
fostering collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and expertise among faculty,
students, and professionals.
Develop Cybersecurity Resources: Advocate for increased resources, infrastructure, and funding to support the growth
and development of cybersecurity education and research within the College of Engineering.

with businesses of all sizes. The group is also investigating an Engineering Research
Center proposal focused on Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure.
