Engineering One-Stop
Engineering One-Stop enhances student access to academic coaching, peer mentoring, academic advising, scholarship and financial aid counseling for all engineering students.
First-Year Engineering Program and One-Stop Partnership
The First-year Engineering Program and One-Stop partner strategically to provide proactive support for all new freshmen entering the College of Engineering. Particular emphasis is placed on academic, personal and career success. The Peer Mentoring Program is a major component of this partnership to help students transition successfully into the College of Engineering.
Academic Advising
The College of Engineering engages in a shared advising model to assist students in
building a strong academic and social support network throughout their collegiate
experience.
Incoming first-year engineering students
These students are assigned an academic advisor in either First-Year Engineering Program (FEP) or Engineering One-Stop (EOS) with most students being advised by EOS academic advisor in their spring semester. Depending on their chosen major and degree progress, students will begin meeting with a faculty advisor in their chosen major after 1-2 years of study.
Transfer students or students changing into engineering
These students are assigned an advisor based on their math placement and degree progress. Some students will be advised by faculty in engineering departments and some by academic advisors in Engineering One-Stop. Students considering changing into engineering should email eos@uark.edu for assistance.

Academic Coaching
Do you wish you knew the “hidden curriculum” to excel at the U of A, like time management
and study strategies, understanding faculty expectations and campus culture, finding
your voice and place on campus, etc.?
Academic Coaching works with you to build skills and self-advocacy by co-creating a success plan that considers your life experiences, academic goals, and long-term professional aspirations.
Coaching is free and available to all Engineering students. Most students seeking coaching attend 2-4 meetings per semester to maximize their academic success and persistence to graduation.

Peer Mentoring
Peer Mentoring is a form of mentorship that usually takes place between a person who has lived through a specific experience and a person who is new to that experience.
Who will be my peer mentor?
In the case of peer mentoring in Engineering One-Stop (EOS), your peer mentor will be an upperclassmen engineering student who will have experienced many of the challenges, obstacles, and experiences that await you. Your peer mentor will be a resource for you in the realms of First-Year Engineering, College of Engineering, the University of Arkansas, college level academics, and the overall transition to college life.
What will we talk about?
Peer mentor meetings will consist of some specific topics, typically ones that prove
useful for most first-year students. These topics are geared towards helping you better
transition not only academically to a university setting, but also professionally
and socially.
If these topics aren’t useful for you, we encourage you to take charge of the conversation.
It is up to you to make the most of this time together.
