Students are encouraged to download the University of Arkansas Graduation App on Google Play or Apple devices for details on graduation and commencement, including useful information about applying to graduate, attending commencement and receiving the diploma.

Family, friends, and other guests will find helpful information such as commencement schedules, parking maps, live streaming and the list of prospective graduates.

Guests Arrival and Entrances

College of Engineering commencement exercises will begin promptly at 12:00 pm., on May 13, 2023. All guests must enter through the upper deck of the SOUTH entrances of Barnhill Arena. Only those persons with mobility impairments will be allowed to enter through the floor level and/or have access to seating at the floor level (see additional instructions regarding mobility impairment). All bags will be checked for security purposes, so it is recommended that guests plan to arrive early to avoid a delay in reaching their seats. We recommend that you do not bring backpacks, large bags, or additional items that may delay entry into Barnhill Arena. Graduates must leave personal belongings with family and friends since you will not be allowed to carry items during the ceremony. There is no limit to the number of guests you may bring with you. We encourage students to bring as many friends and family members as they wish to invite.

Persons with Mobility Impairments

Graduates or guests with mobility impairment may be DROPPED OFF by turning off Meadow Street between the HPER Building and Meadow Street Parking Garage (MSPG) and driving toward the South entrance of Barnhill Arena (Lot 59).  Pull forward and around to the WEST side of Barnhill Arena to the disabled drop off location.  Upon drop off, cars may park in the Stadium Drive Garage (Union Parking Deck), the Stadium Lot (Lot 44), or Lots 72 and 73 (West of Reynolds Stadium and the practice facilities off Razorback Road). LIMITED special seating will be available at court level. Each disabled guest can be accompanied by only one additional guest—all other guests in the party will need to sit in guest seating indicated above.  Barnhill does not have an elevator, so all persons with mobility impairment should plan to enter on the WEST side of Barnhill Arena. No disabled drop off is available on the Stadium Drive entrance. We recommend that guests with mobility impairment arrive no later than 11:00 am. For further questions regarding people with mobility impairment, please contact Denise Rogers, 479-575-6012.

Parking

Free parking is available in any unrestricted parking lot on campus. Download a map of all parking areas. College of Engineering Commencement - Barnhill Arena:  Suggested public parking available in lots 44, 72, 73, 73A and Stadium Drive Parking Garage. Disabled drop off is available at the west side of the arena.

Graduate Arrival and Check-In

Graduates participating in commencement should check-in by 11:00 a.m. at the SOUTH entrance to Barnhill Arena (the side facing the HPER building.)  At check-in, you must present the graduate student pass that you received in the email from the Registrar’s Office.  The pass will contain your commencement and seat information for the ceremony.  The ceremony announcement card will be placed in your assigned seat.  The ceremony announcement card includes your name, honors, and degree being received, so please review the information to verify it is correct.  The card has a barcode that will be scanned when you hand the card to the stage announcers.  The scanned information on the card will display your name and degree on the stage screen before you walk across the stage to receive your diploma.  IMPORTANT: to avoid damaging the barcode, do not fold the card!

Graduates will receive complete commencement instructions via email prior to commencement.
